UI DESIGNER / WEB DESIGNER
Design Farm is immediately seeking a UI Designer/Web Designer. Applicants must be passionate about their design work and possess the ability to rapidly pick up new technologies to keep themselves and the team ahead of the curve.
This position begins in mid-November 2010. This could be a permanent position, a contract to hire position, or a contract position. (A contract position would continue through June 2011.) This work is in Tallahassee, Florida; this is not a remote position.
General Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to develop applications for proprietary systems and clients
- The ability to communicate clearly with both internal and external clients and maintain a clear understanding of project expectations
- The ability to work with a team of product developers, designers, and other programmers to develop complex, highly efficient web sites
- The ability to clearly organize and label pages/components within a site or application (Information Architecture)
Design Requirements:
- Strong graphic and web design skills
- Strong web application GUI design skills
- Clean and modern design style
- Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, etc. )
- A thorough knowledge of and ability to use the elements and principles of design in the creation of compelling web sites and application interfaces
- The ability to distinguish between form & function and to implement a variety of design styles
- The ability to design visual representations of navigation systems
- The ability to design or illustrate interface elements such as icons
Bonus:
- Proficiency with style sheets
- Web usability experience
- Understanding of web 508 ADA compliance
- Interactive prototyping experience/Experience with wireframes
